Generative AI Policy

Our journal permits the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools solely as an auxiliary instrument, specifically for tasks such as language editing, technical formatting, literature search support, and idea generation for structuring analysis. However, it is essential to fully and clearly disclose in the article the services and methods used, as well as to verify all facts and references to primary sources. This approach is in line with European standards of integrity and transparency, particularly the principles outlined in ALLEA (European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity) and COPE (Core Practices and Best Practice Principles in Scholarly Publishing).

AI cannot serve as a co-author and does not bear scientific responsibility. Full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and legality of the materials rests with the authors. The use of AI to fabricate sources (so-called "hallucinated citations"), data fabrication or falsification, image/diagram manipulation, or the creation of significant parts of the text without proper disclosure is prohibited.

Authors must retain records of AI usage (such as versions of queries and outputs) for potential editorial verification. If AI has been applied to data containing personal or other sensitive information, authors must have the appropriate legal grounds and guarantees of protection in accordance with GDPR (including the principles of minimisation, lawfulness, and "privacy by design/default"), avoid the unauthorised uploading of confidential data into third-party models, and ensure anonymisation or pseudonymisation.

The editorial team may use automated indicators of machine generation solely as a screening tool, which holds no independent evidentiary value. All conclusions are based on human expertise, COPE procedures, and the evaluation of the manuscript according to scientific criteria. The use of AI must be disclosed in a separate line within the "Materials and Methods" or "Acknowledgements" section (indicating the tool, version, and scope of tasks). If AI was used to create images or multimedia, this should also be separately marked.

This policy ensures the preservation of originality, traceability, and accountability in research, while aligning publication practices with leading European standards of openness and research integrity.
