Oleksandr Mykolayovych Naumenko – Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Honoured Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, First Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and Postgraduate Education at the Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 1988, he graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University. He undertook a training placement in endoscopic rhinoplasty and attended courses in ear microsurgery and otoneurosurgery (Warsaw, Poland).

In 1998, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences on the topic “The state of mineral metabolism and methods of its correction in certain forms of rhinitis”. In 2002, he defended his doctoral thesis on the spontaneous and induced pathomorphosis of chronic rhinitis in residents of the Kyiv region. In 2023, Oleksandr Naumenko was awarded an honorary award by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Number of postgraduate students supervised: 10.

Research interests: Professor O.M. Naumenko’s many years of work have resulted in the creation of a new field of science – ecological rhinology. Under his supervision, 3 Master’s theses and 1 doctoral thesis have been successfully defended.

Implementation in clinical practice: 3 Ukrainian patents.

Publications: over 250 scientific works, including 4 monographs, 2 inventions, 4 teaching manuals, and 2 methodological guidelines.

Oleksandr Mykolayovych is the First Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work. He also played a key role in the establishment of the Faculty of Medical Training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Membership of professional associations: European Federation of Audiologists.

Awards: Honoured Doctor of Ukraine, Distinguished Educator of Ukraine, recipient of a Letter of Thanks and a Certificate of Honour from the Mayor of Kyiv.
