Abstract

22 March 2023 marked the 115th anniversary of the birth of academician, distinguished scientist, winner of the State Prize in Science, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Mykola Nikiforovich Zayka, who from 1960 to 1986 headed the Department of Pathological Physiology at the Bogomolets National Medical University (then known as the Bogomolets Medical Institute). A distinguished scientist, talented organiser of science, and wonderful teacher, he made an invaluable contribution to the development of pathophysiology and helped to strengthen the authority of the Kyiv Medical Institute.
