Abstract
The capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, achieved its first University only in 1834, a medical university the faculty under it was founded in 1841, and in 1845 the department began its work pathological anatomy with general pathology. It was headed by a student of M.I. until 1853. Pirogov – MI. Kozlov, and from 1854 to 1869 – the famous pathologist and therapist Yu.I. Matzon.
